I was due to be on honeymoon this week but ended up being stuck here so thought I’d take the time to update you all, outdoor nets have now started, taking place on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 onwards at the club.
Ahead of the coming season we also have a players meeting taking place next Tuesday (the 27th April) in the clubhouse following nets (from 7pm onwards), please make every effort to attend.
Finally, the midweek fixtures are now up on the site, could those players interested in playing midweek cricket please let Tom Grace know before the season gets under way on the 1st of May.
Hi all,
just a quick note to say that nets are on this Sunday, from 1:45 to 3ish, at Rougemont School. Have checked with CD who has confirmed they’re on despite it being Easter weekend.
See you there,
Matt.
I’ve been a busy little bunny over the last couple of days and as a result the site has a few new features, the first of these is the addition of fixtures. At the moment there are only fixtures for the Saturday team but as soon as I have friendly and/or midweek fixtures (hint hint) they will be on the site as well.
As the season goes on the fixtures table will be updated to display results.
I’ve also added a photos section, the only photos I could find were ome from the 2006 tour, I don’t think there’s anything too incriminating in them but please check, I can take offending pics down (for a small fee). There’s also a few pics from the presentation evening in 2006.
If anyone wants directions to the ground they can get them via the new Google map and the committee section has had minutes from recent meetings added to it.
If there is anything else you would like to see on the site then please leave a comment or grab hold of me at a net session and I’ll see what I can do.
Matt.
Following a recent players’ meeting it was agreed that any proposed merger plans with other local clubs be shelved and Caerleon Cricket Club will continue on as Caerleon Cricket Club in the 2010 season.
While this means the club will be forced to only field one team in the coming season it allows us to carry on playing under the Caerleon name, a name that carries with it a certain amount of pride, both for the Caerleon locals and those amongst us from further afield.
The move to being a single side club means that we will now be playing our cricket in the Alliance League (a couple more “home” games in the Caerphilly area for me than I’m used to!) and are looking forward to a season of enjoyable, competitive cricket in a team that has a nice mix of old heads and young pups.
Caerleon Nets Have Started.
Indoor nets have started and run from 14:00 to 15:00 each Sunday at Rougemont School, we look forward to seeing you there.
Matt.
Greetings all,
Our AGM will take place at the Cricket Club Pavilion on Friday the 30th of October at 7:30 pm. The AGM is your opportunity to get involved in the election of the club’s officers and have a say in the direction the club will take in the coming season.
See you all there.
